Specifications
The Prestige attempts a hat trick by combining a ridiculously good-looking cast, a highly regarded new director, and more than one sleight of hand. Does it pull it off? Sort of. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman play rival magicians who were once friends before an on-stage tragedy drove a wedge between them. While Bale’s Alfred Borden is a more skilled illusionist, Jackman’s Rufus Angier is the better showman; much of the film’s interesting first half is their attempts to sabotage–and simultaneously, top–each other’s tricks. Even with the help of a prop inventor (Michael Caine) and a comely assistant (Scarlett Johansson), Angier can’t match Borden’s ultimate illusion: The Transporting Man. Angier’s obsession with learning Borden’s trick leads him to an encounter with an eccentric inventor (David Bowie) in a second half that gets bogged down in plot loops and theatrics. Director Christopher Nolan, reuniting with his Batman Begins star Bale, demonstrates the same dark touch that hued that film, but some plot elements–without giving anything away–seem out of place with the rest of the movie. It’s better to sit back and let the sometimes-clunky turns steer themselves than try to draw back the black curtain. That said, The Prestige still manages to entertain long after the magician has left the stage–a feat in itself. –Ellen A. Kim

Such a Headache I Got From this Movie! – Yasha Banana –
VAT is already facockta with this film? Now he is here, now there. Please, another headache I do not need.
This has a twin brother in the film. And both are in business together. … Big mistake. … I went into business with my brother-in-law. We have opened a kosher Delicatessan in Scrotumville, South Dakota. Goyim could as far as the eye can see. But what the hell, we have a chance.
One day – talk about your "Transporter Man" – myBrother-in-law died by all means, * and * the aitress and vans themselves, * and * money for Prickly Heat, Ecuador. That was some schmeency feency-carrier, I would say ya.
Anyway, what I care about my problems. About me, Yasha J. Banana, the senior auditor Amazon (if you call this way of life), you can care less. Am I right? I hit the nail on the head?
I must say that although this issue was not flicker, I wasfascinated by the fact that they were twin brothers romancing two beautiful women to women, and both girls thought it was the same type.
Or was it a guy romancing two women? Or were the two women schtupping story on the page?
Who knows cockamammie with this movie! What interests me magic tricks? We could not, at least once * * get a good view of tukas Scarlett Johannsen? Put on a G-strong, that shiksa brother, and I am a happy nonogenarian!
Personally, if it is even if I schtupping, J. Yasha Banana – flute tuner, blocking the hat and a towel boy in Plato's Retreat time – I recommend full disclosure. She has a twin brother, make sure your friend knows who is who. Or that, or create a strange day / even day package. Or both eat onions.
Now with my post …
You see, this guy is a magician machine used to clone themselves. Once that happens, everything in the movie * *gets so excited! The director can not believe it – a machine that can connect one of my players. He goes berserk. Instead of saying to the public in a clear and simple language: "This guy a machine that clones itself – is" No, this man holds the director has advised us throughout the film.
If I could, I would have kicked.
Can you imagine if I clone a machine – a machine, 97 years, Jews have had. J. Yasha Banana everywhere! I kid!
What would make a comeback for the Catskills.
Stock Depends' would have gone through the roof.
At every street corner you hear people say, would "Yasha, boychick, so good to see. … Again."
I would clone day and night and day and night. And each of my clones have to do the same.
Soon there will be a Yashaville had. Then a Yasha County. Then I recognize, J. Yasha Banana, as a sovereign nation. … Yasha Congo. (InvoiceI danced once in the back room with Sophie Tucker Congo in '36).
Then there would be spin-off countries – Congo Yasha interior, exterior Yasha Congo, Congo-Yasha Superior.
Soon, J. Yasha Banana should be worldwide. I would start moving in your neighborhood, knocking on the door asking if you want to give Uja. And if you refused, I would again and again, and vice versa.
It would be so much of me, I would be able to choose the politicians who fill the stadiums, the surroundRockettes.
I, J. Yasha bananas would be everywhere. At one point I went into business and selling a property, what I wanted to sell crap. All sales are final.
I would start a religion. The entire community told me, Yasha J. Banana is. We were going to sing all the services on Saturday: "We are Jews!" We are the world! "
I had a fundraiser. Another luck! I would like this in the 700 Club do ganef pikers.
OfWell, of course, to 97 years, we would all bananas J. Yasha, ah die, be. But remember, the undertaker would be in heaven! Young children who beg their parents to send school undertaker. "Praise 101" would require a course in all colleges and universities. Gosh, we would die like flies!
(As I said, Sophie Tucker, when I asked a mirror already in 1937) are, I can see now – hearse full of jams and widows in mourning.Worldwide, hundreds of thousands of 97-year-old clutching Jascha J. Bananas her heart, her eyes rolling – "This is the Big One, Elizabeth!") The smell of Ben Gay mixed with rotting flesh. Shuffleboard courts with the carcasses of 97 years, scattered. Social Security belly up.
Sure, sure, you could say: "But Yash, Bubi, you would not want to use your ability to clone the benefit of others, what the brotherhood of man, whatelevate the human condition? That everyone, not just J. Yasha Banana clones, but * all * Cumbaya holding hands and singing. Yash, come on, what is justice, what about … the people? "
And you know what I have to say that: – Fark People! Where people in the client, when I opened my kosher Delicatessan in Scrotumville, South Dakota, and no one had walked for my sheep "Dip Surprise" were? Or my "goyim gefilte Fish Gourmet. Fark people. Ewho rode in the cavalry. Let em 'get their own car cloning.
It was not long bananas J. Yasha dominate the world! About Yasha! Viva la Revolution! Pastrami on rye bread for all you banana!
Slow start…excellent ending – jesus4me – MD USA
I've heard some rave reviews about this film before seeing, so I went in with high expectations. I must say that I thought it would be much more magic tricks in the movie to see, as there are suppsed between rival magicians. It seemed that she was about 2 tricks then began the war to discover the secrets of each other. I was waiting for the WOW factor. From the middle to the end, really got the excitement and I was very happy with the final twisted. Not my favoriteFilm, but very interesting to say the least, and I was not disappointed.
Wonderful movie!!! – Leon Zilles –
The story behind this film is compelling and addictive! It 'was very well said and the cinematography was brilliant. It 's definitely one I would see again and again.
A classic – D.M. –
One of the best movies I've seen in recent years. The history, the act makes viewing and the imagination of a classic.

Overview
Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart star in the romantic drama Love Happens. When self-help author Dr. Burke Ryan (Eckhart) arrives in Seattle to teach a sold-out seminar, he unexpectedly meets florist Eloise Chandler (Aniston), the one person who might be able to help him help himself. But will two people who may have met the right person at exactly the wrong time be able to give love a chance? If they can, they’ll find that sometimes, when you least expect it…love happens.
Specifications
Is timing everything? That’s the premise of the sweet and frothy Love Happens, a satisfying romantic comedy starring two of America’s most versatile and attractive actors, Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart. Love has the power, as viewers secretly know, to swoop in and change lives–even at the most inopportune times. And Eckhart and Aniston are achingly believable, as the two who would (futilely) fight the fates.
Eckhart plays Dr. Burke Ryan, a motivational guru whose bestselling books and seminars purportedly are to help the masses deal with their feelings of grief and loss–but he also finds he uses his massive success as an excellent device to distance himself from his own feelings. Aniston is a successful florist, who, after a string of really bad relationships (her pal says, “you tend to fall for guys with expiration dates right on their foreheads”), has sworn off men. The two meet cute when they literally bump into each other in the Seattle hotel where Eckhart is holding a seminar. It’s to both actors’ great credit that what seems like an instant connection is really quite believable, though of course the characters’ first instinct is to each run the other way. Eckhart and Aniston have believable, adult chemistry, something often missing from contemporary American film. Their emotional baggage has shaped them, and must be opened, organized, and then properly stowed for takeoff; Love Happens gives careful attention to that all-too-necessary process.
Martin Sheen has an excellent supporting role as the father of Burke’s late wife–and who clearly sees the pain his son-in-law is steeping in, despite success beyond his wildest dreams. Director and co-writer Brandon Camp (John Doe) has a sure knack for dialogue and for connecting characters. He also is adept at letting a setting–in this case, Seattle–develop as a moody and appropriate backdrop for his story. (Though purists and Seattleites will have fun watching for the many breaks in continuity, between shots of the city and of Vancouver, where much of the film was shot.) “You have to give yourself permission to live your life again,” Burke’s friend (Dan Fogler) urges him. Words to live–and love–by. –A.T. Hurley

Depressing – Helen O’connell – Ireland
It 'a shame for Jennifer Aniston in this movie. It 'very depressing, that should be called death. It was more death and how he taught people the loss of a loved one, if not dealt with their wives death treated at all. So what was their own pain to do by going to this workshop / book to help someone else and he stuck by the fact that their misery and pain. It was not Rock My Boat
Is it possible to ever stop grieving our losses? – Medusa – Troy, MI
A man, who helps people cope with their losses, must face his personal denial of pain. It is a touchingly sweet movie but the idea of making it a romantic comedy was decision made by a vacant mind. The jokes are not funny and Aaron Eckhart is awkward whilst when trying to be funny. The mistakes can be overlooked, and the movie can be worth watching, considering the excellent topic and Jennifer Aniston’s performance.
Recycled Chick Flick – Jamie Noelle Lions – WA
Love Happens ….. We have the concept again and again saw in movies (Chick Flicks mostly). I indulge in the occasional Chick Flick, but this was just terrible. Jennifer Aniston has never played a different character? The chemistry between her and Aaron Eckhart is too painful to see. The two did not connect and is horrible and boring to watch. The parrot in the movie is fun to watch. It's just terrible and not waste your time.
too mindless for Aniston – Catherine H. Chase Peters – Mexico
He was a romantic film with little substance is worth seeing the light for the romantic – Aniston is in a much more

Blue Ray Movies :Paprika [Blu-ray] Review
Posted by Blu Ray Movies Review on May 30th, 2010
I've seen this movie before I had ever seen "The Cell". Yes, there are some scenes that are similar to the movie with Jennifer Lopez, but I really preferred director Satoshi Kon / Japanese writer Tsutsui Yatsutaka animated exploration of dream exploration. Lopez as a character in "The Cell, Japanese psychologist, Atsuko Chan, delves into the soul of psychotherapy patients with a device (the so-called mini DC.) But peppers makes them smarter than" The Cell, addressing ethicalaid applications on science, perception and reality, psychology and the use of technology or damage.
There are some really nice extras with the film – including an interview with the Japanese vocal cast (including Satoshi Kon and Yatsutaka Tsutsui, who voiced the characters bartender in the film). Kon admits that initially he wanted to pepper the film, was long before his other films like "Millennium Actress" and "Perfect Blue".
Paprika'sscenes and the CGI animation was made of pure pleasure for the eyes. The meandering plot is to guess in any way. This is a Japanese and English audio track with the film.
The only problem I had with the voice of Atsuko and Paprika Chan for the English version. Intonation of the pepper and the other characters were perfectly located close to the Japanese version, and almost a bit 'annoyed the British. I usually prefer the synchronization, but this was the first time I hadsee sub eng.

The magical tale centers on a revolutionary machine that allows scientists to enter and record a subject’s dream. After being stolen, a fearless detective and brilliant therapist join forces to recover the device before it falls into the hands of a dream terrorist in this gripping anime thriller from acclaimed director Satoshi Kon.
Specifications
Based on a novel by the noted Japanese science fiction writer Yasutaka Tsutui, the brilliant and unsettling feature Paprika continues director Satoshi Kon’s exploration of the disturbingly permeable boundaries between dreams and reality. Techno-geek Kosaku Tokita invented the DC Mini to allow therapists to enter a patient’s dreams and explore his unconscious, but an evil cabal uses the Mini to create a mass nightmare that causes multiple suicides. Psychotherapist Atsuko Chiba uses her alter-identity, “dream detective” Paprika, to intervene. Entering the nightmare, she witness a bizarre parade of appliances, toys, and kitsch objects: All of her intelligence and imagination are needed to escape this nightmare and its perpetrators. As he did in Millennium Actress and Paranoia Agent, Kon effortlessly carries the audience between reality and fantasy, confirming his reputation as one of the most talented and interesting directors working in animation today. A Stunning Piece of Anime Genius – AngelDove – Long Island, NY
Many fans of the cartoon is on this or that movie so much because the style of an artist full use of the drawing interesting story or action sequences, but in my opinion, all the peppers. With some crowd scenes, the score of this film is unique and unusual. The story is a psychological thriller that takes the viewer's attention on both the characters and events that you pay. It has many sexual references, so it is not for children. Itis also a deeper message, as you might expect, but not by Satoshi Kon, the challenges his audience again and again to revisit their vision of reality. Here watch this more than once to stay, just him. * * Now that is cool.
An Animation Tour de Force – Ryan N. Modi –
Maybe some sort of spoiler at the end.
Paprika is fast-moving and well animated. Sometimes it's a bit 'difficult to understand, but if you pay attention you should be able to follow. If you like previous works of Satoshi Kon then I think it will.
Best I can is that there is a new technology that allows to describe the dreams to share with other people, someone steals the technology, and begin to blend dream and reality. If you couldfollow films like The Matrix, this should not be too difficult.
Simple story, complicated presentation – Marina A. –
The story is initially difficult, as you wonder where the story goes, like, what is this story. But halfway to the end you will see that the real story is actually very simple. I felt like I really lost time to try to make the story seem complicated when it is not. It is not my favorite. I most extraordinary I've ever seen. In any case, the quality of Blu-ray on my PSP.
Paprika – Bernard C. Sabatini –
Excellent animation, but the story is a bit 'strange and difficult for those not used to follow the anime.

Blue Ray Movies :Mad Men – Season One [Blu-ray] Review
Posted by Blu Ray Movies Review on May 30th, 2010
Fabulous, Fabulous! Better than Sopranos, which is better than anything else on television.
Obviously I agree with most previous reviews. I just want to add my two cents in some areas that I guests do not do justice to the tag:
Before Don's Wife Betty Draper is often stereotyped by reviewers as a wonderful "childish kind of Stepford wife. I do not agree. There is much more than the superficial glance. Is a wonderful woman presented with aAmbivalence – have fun and dazzles in his airy working in their assigned role as a beautiful, loving, faithful wife and mother and homemaker. But inside, there is depression, loneliness, alienation and even anger and a sense of despair. In fact, reveal their lines of this in almost every corner. On one side is clearly a leader of opinion among his friends for their neighborhood (for example, in convincing his friends of his tolerance and sympathy for the divorced woman who has justjoined the district), and full equality in their replies with intelligent Don. On the other hand, put a hostess is nervous, fearful the perfect birthday party for her child, and she is suffering with some scary psychosomatic numbness and shaking hands, leading to 1960, reduces the sofa . His relationship with Don is a beautiful script and choreography blend of true love with a partnership of openness and honesty towards alltheir common life struggles played out by fraud, and fantasies of escape illegal in each of their private lives.
Like many second critical comment Mad Men is a gem of a presentation of an anti-PC "in the face" 1960 world. But not just for show and indulge in the "capitalist," "materialistic," "culture" depraved.
Far from glorifying that lifestyle shows, in fact, much to capture the attention of the viewer, for all the darkness that trapsAlienation, the Darwinian competition, and disease that creates this world! In fact, this unrepentant very extravagant, and beautiful, television show quality films, viewers treated to a rare degree of respect – the viewer sees how it was for real, without interference from judges or propaganda for himself as a rare treat!

Blue Ray Movies :Paranormal Activity (2-Disc Digital Copy Edition) [Blu-ray] Review
Posted by Blu Ray Movies Review on May 29th, 2010
I must say, I liked this movie, perhaps because I looked after him all the media hype about it so I can see, does not expect the greatest thing since sliced bread, or I hope to see it as terrible, I Slate could be friends.
The story, as we all know is a couple of suburbs, friend and friend. Girl complained about hearing strange noises in the house and a friend decided to create a camera in the bedroom on this suspicion Paranormal Activity document(Hence the name of the film) The film is shot in so much in terms of one or other pair recorded holding the camera the next three weeks and see what happens.
The great advantage of this (especially if you are responsible for budget film) is that you have a very small cast. The couple, a psychic, a friend to visit, and of course the spirit / demon is. This is not to belittle the film in any way, as the film is actually quite good. For the beginning of the movie goes rightaction. There is sitting waiting for something happen, it's almost an introduction by Micha (The friend documented) of its intention to be what happened to them on her with the film. Because his shot to be documented from the perspective of someone's life according to their processed as the plate is very smooth and there off in bribes as a movie can often be normal. There are no real effects (speaking) as compensationthis silence, the director has used to frighten the public. You will be in front of the TV position, while the couple sleep until something happens to play the silence on your mind, you hear something? Do you have something in a corner of the screen? Then BANG! It happens. In a sense, its similarity to some Japanese horror film that Gore, at its lowest and the psychological fear. Things started to escalate in the house when the days until they happen to come to a conclusion that it is betternot expected.
I did like the case in this film, Micah played very well the friend rational (though it may be a bit 'boring) The only thing a bit' silly was his constant need to keep the lights out and not running into pitch dark, with only a camera light lead (Really when was the idea that damage to some psychotic demonic possession to tie the house to their last, what you would do in the dark) In addition to walking, I must say, I enjoyedthis film.

Overview
This intense edge-of-your seat horror film follows a young suburban couple who record the sinister disturbances in their home while they sleep– even as the domestic haunting becomes more frequent, more threatening and all too personal. Hypnotic and harrowing, Paranormal Activity uniquely delivers frightful suspense punctuated by moments of sudden and unexpected terror, all the way to the shocking ending.
Featuring a version not shown in theaters with an exclusive alternate ending, Paranormal Activity is the one supernatural thriller Blu-ray to own that plays on your most primal fears, and guarantees you’ll need to sleep with the lights on.
Specifications
Like The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity is an impressive and harrowing indie chiller that derives much of its terror–and there is quite a bit of that in its brief running time–by playing on the most basic of human fears: that which cannot be seen. Though one might assume that the point-of-view aesthetic had been worn out thanks to Cloverfield and Quarantine (and, lest one forgets, Blair Witch), Paranormal makes excellent use of the single-camera technique, which helps to not only preserve the film’s central conceit–a new-minted couple records the increasingly threatening supernatural phenomena that have invaded their home on a camcorder–but underscore the realism needed to drive home the low-fi (if completely persuasive) special effects. The approach is also crucial to the film’s suspense, which unfolds in long, largely broken takes to nerve-rattling effect. Not every horror fan–or moviegoer–will fall for the film’s spook-show approach. Those that found Blair Witch‘s less-is-more approach aggravating will feel the same way about Paranormal, but the sleight of hand exhibited by first-time director Oren Peli, and assisted by his two leads, relative newcomers Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, should provide adventurous viewers with fresher and stronger scares than anything from Hollywood in recent years. –Paul Gaita

I liked The Blair Witch Project, so I thought this might be something worth rent (or buy his own). I saw it with my young son late at night, and when the photo went to the last shot I saw this "is black?" Expression. Maybe we chose the wrong version, so we saw the alternate ending. Yep, once again this term. Paranormal Activity does not work, probably for two reasons. You should hear the audience in a position in which the characters, which is not absolutelythe case of this film (with the Blair Witch WAS). Secondly, the figures in a credible way of behaving. An example: when things go bump in the night in your house and you feel threatened, do you want? Sure, the lights turn immediately, all. Many times this does not happen is if you like, "Oh, yes, cameraman / director / whoever, just keep it dark, so it's scary (it was dark in Kubrick's Overlook). And what metamorphosis-creature-flash? End? Honestly, I've seen creepier amateur material on Youtube. The knife was not the end better (Oh my God, what a terrible thing to do !!!). Good horror targets the subconscious of the public, is working on a deeper, archetypal level. Myths and legends, fear of a hostile environment, isolation, fear of mutilation, it was all there in The Blair Witch. Also felt responsible for Paranormal Activity, the need for a kind of declaration (Youtube creature type) end (a demon !!!). Big mistake! You greatest fear is fear of the unknown. No, I'm going to rewatch Exorcist.
Avoid this at all costs – L. C. Trude Jr. –
Man … This was boring and very slow. Amateurish, at best. The Shakey annoying camera goes all the way and will certainly give you a huge headache.
I do not like negative reviews, but this supposed good movie, I felt very disappointed to be written. I've seen hundreds of horror films, from splatter, psychological and love, "so bad it's good" premise, but this seems like school project for children.
Nothing happens for about an hour, and then there are things likeThe doors of bribes idea, strange noises, a Ouija-board fire and a lot of screams in the dark. And that's all.
The couple boring just lying in bed for almost half a movie. The plot is ridiculous. Picture this: if the girl asks for help (and she does a lot), the first thing the guy is doing is running for his camera.
The extra is an alternate ending of Spielberg chose as the best choice, having the big picture. I can not really believeOld Steven that this movie will end. If you actually … Hey … the "director" should be his cousin, protected or something.

Natural beauty destroyed by photographic manipulation – K. Swanson – Denver, CO USA
If you've never enjoyed a sunrise, buying with the dew on the grass and the birds serenade the sun – not the DVD. The time-lapse sequences are too fast. The DVD is organized into chapters, and I thought it was a reason for the chapter. But the film moves quickly from one scene to another without direction, the object or purpose. There are some nice places, but their real effect is lost in this production. Moreover, nobody can identify.

Honestly I do not remember how I stumbled on "save" a few years ago, but I may have such low expectations for this low-budget horror film and that helped me love him. This is not a gold mine for Hollywood effects chock full of incredibly beautiful stars say the same stupid lines all previous Gore-Fest. The madman is back and he’s ready for more blood…
Mortuary: When the Doyle family moves to a small town in California to start a new life, it entails running the long-abandoned Fowler Funeral Home and cemetery. One gem, one piece of garbage – Paul Hite – Ashburn, Va USA
The 3-star rating for this double feature is mainly due to the strength of the recovery. It 's a micro-buget film that works. Begins as a film that blurs fantasy and reality completely. Then, with a plot twist worthy of M Night Shyamalan, everything in its place. It 's almost a movie four stars, and worth 3 stars.
I want to be generous and give Mortuary two stars, but it is approached only a single star. Test (I think), a mixture of comedy and horror. But it makes porly on both fronts. Tobe Hooper does a great movie every decade or so, but this is not one of them. It never explains what happens. No loss, but I was not interested anyway.
Good deal – not the best but not the worst either – M. Lehiste – New York, NY
I could really kind of accident, because they are very clever twist, it was the end.
Mortuary was the horror story of the two (if not very memorable) – It 's a bit silly at the end was – but nothing that could ruin the experience.
The quality was probably not the best Blu-ray (try to be copied to DVD BD) – but nothing really to complain about either.
The only complaint I have looked on this double feature is that there is no option for subtitles / MiscellaneousLanguages
These 2 movies are the worst horror movies I’ve ever seen – Rares Petrescu – European Union
The photo is of poor quality, but this Blu-Ray, a problem is not as rare as you think you think /.

Blue Ray Movies :Redbelt (+ BD Live) [Blu-ray] Review
Posted by Blu Ray Movies Review on May 27th, 2010
"Redbelt" is probably the best martial arts films of all time, if you are looking for a combination of martial arts philosophy that underpins the way of the warrior. This is not the kind of lip service in Bruce Lee and Steven Segal movies (I adore), where the protagonist says that "peace is the way" and then go and kill or maim hundreds of people. It is rather a demonstration of the difficulty, "the way" and what is true to itself is a struggle. But fear not, the endthe day, a very reluctant hero is forced into a confrontation, and the display of martial arts is enormous.
The film is written and directed by David Mamet and Chiwetel Ejiofor star with a great supporting cast that Tim Allen, Joe Mantega, Alice Braga, Max Martini, Ricky Jay, MMA and former champion Randy Couture understands.
David Mamet has been twice for an Oscar and a Golden Globe ("Wag the Dog", appointed in 1998, "The Verdict" in 1983), was nominated by the Writer Guild fourTimes ("The Untouchables" 1987 and "Glengarry Glen Ross" in 1992) and won a Cable ACE Award for "A Life in the Theatre" (1993). Produced the memorable series "The Unit" and "The Shield."
Mamet has his own company, Joe Mantega, Rebecca Pidgeon and Ricky Jay, who appears in include "Redbelt", but his usual are available (for example, William Macy, Alec Baldwin, JTWalsh).
– Joe Mantega is perhaps best known for his great role in the TV series "known criminalMinds ", but gave us many memorable roles in the 100 + films and television shows in which he appeared, also won the Volpi Cup at Venice Film Festival for" Things Change "(1988), three Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination . my favorite Joe Mantegna Joey Zasa include roles in "Godfather 3" (1990), Dean Martin in The Rat Pack "(1998) and Fat Tony" The Simpsons Mantega published in several films as Mamet's "House of Games" (1987 ), "Homicide" (1991) and "Things change"(1998) and worked with him on Broadway ("Glengarry Glen Ross"). Mantega plays a fixer for Tim Allen, and does a good job, even if some just large enough for the talent Mantega.
– Ricky Jay is a grizzled face you recognize, even though the name escapes. It 'been more than two dozen films and memorable roles as Langhans Kurt us in "Boogie Nights" (1997), the bad Henry Gupta in "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997) Milton and the magician in "The Prestige" ( 2006).He is a favorite of Mamet, and appeared in "House of Games" (1987), "Homicide" (1991), "The Spanish Prisoner" (1997), "Things change" (1998), and "Heist" ( 2001). Ricky Jay plays a sleazy corrupt person very well.
– Max Martin has worked with Mamet on "The Unit" where he played Master Sgt Gerhardt (the man whose wife is unfaithful). He had small roles in "Saving Private Ryan" (1998) and "The Great Raid" (2005) and has been very active on TV. Mac brings his usualIntensity, the role of police in 'Redbelt' Who is torn between his loyalty to his master and his loyalty to his family.
– Rebecca Pidgeon is the second wife of Mamet, and appeared in several films as Mamet's "Homicide" (1991), "The Spanish Prisoner" (1997), "Things change" (1998), "The Winslow Boy" ( 1999), "State and Main" (2000), and "Heist" (2001) and a recurring role as Charlotte Ryan in "The Unit" (2006-2009). She plays the wife of Tim Allen with a mischievous to corruptothers.
Chiwetel Ejiofor plays the master Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He has twice been nominated for a Golden Globe for his film work ("Endgame" in 2009 and "tsunami" in 2006) and once on TV ("Kinky Boots" in 2005). He is active in more than a dozen films and is best known for his work in "American Gangster" (2007) Denzel Washington as his brother.
We know Tim Allen from his numerous plays, including the hit TV series "Home Improvement" (1991-1999) and films like "Santa Clause"(1994) and "Toy Story" (1995). Playing a celebrity-like Sinatra was the last thing you would expect from Allen, but remove it creates and suggests that he has some real talent for dramatic acting.
Emily Mortimer has a lawyer who is the center of this Ejiofor, when all else seems to have left the form. They love interest of Bruce Willis' in Disney played "The Kid" (2002), Clouseau's love interest in "The Pink Panther" (2006, 2009), Alec Baldwin and loveThe interest for "30 Rock" (2009). She manages to be vulnerable and still the master of Jiu-Jitsu.
Writer / director Mamet thinks the film is a film in the tradition of Kurosawa samurai. This is not fair, since most of Kurosawa movies, with more action and less philosophy. And very few Kurosawa films have such a complicated plot. Indeed, the film is a mix of samurai film with film noir. Leaving aside the comparisons, this is a thinking man and filmgets better with additional investigations, such as relations of the characters reveal themselves in layers.
The last 10 minutes or so of the film virtually without dialogue. Mamet allows the application to explain and tell the story. We think of Mamet's dialogue as a director and not a visual director, but this film proves that movies are shot for shot with the best of them. What is interesting for me is that, in Mamet's 1991 book "On direction," said"The task of director of telling the story through the juxtaposition of uninflected images" (p. 60). Most of his films since 1991, but this goal does not reflect Redbelt is probably the best example of Mamet has always manufactured its own method.
The camera work by Robert Elswit is unforgettable. Elswit won an Oscar for his work in "There Will Be Blood" (2007) and was for "Good Night and Good Luck appointed" (2005). He also gave us "Boogie Nights" (1997) and "8 mm" (1999) among itsmany movies.
The film is greatly enhanced by music. Stephen Endelman scored dozens of films, including Home of the Brave "(2006)," The Proposition "(1998)," City of Industry "(1997) and" A Bronx "(1993). He was nominated for a Grammy for his work on "De-Lovely" (2004).
If you love martial arts films, or studies of character, this movie is for you. Photography, music, acting, story and direction are all excellent. If the film has no fault in all, itrelative complexity of the plot, but this little incident will not stop to get a great experience.

Like David Mamet’s previous films, Redbelt‘s narrative slowly exposes the well-guarded secrets of systems shrouded in mystique and conspiracy, this time at martial-arts academies and on Hollywood film and television sets. Reminiscent of Rocky, Redbelt is an unapologetically moralistic tale of an impoverished, inner city Jiu Jitsu instructor whose idealism is an affront to those who seek to sink him. Mike Terry (Chiwetel Ejiofor), unknowingly affiliated with the wealthy Brazilian family who rigs televised MMA matches, naively rescues actor Chet Frank (Tim Allen) from being mutilated in a bar brawl, but isn’t able to link Frank’s sketchy relations until Terry’s life is endangered. Fated to assist Terry is attorney Laura Black (Emily Mortimer), who conveniently stumbles into Terry’s Jiu Jitsu academy early in the film’s opening. With an impossibly mandarin plot, Redbelt is packed with improbable coincidences and confusing, maze-like dead-ends, but the sheer brainpower required to sleuth along keeps one riveted throughout. Plus, it is hard not to be thrilled by ample, accurately enacted Jiu Jitsu fight scenes. Mamet’s actors deliver deadpan, poker-faced dialogue to comedic effect, especially Ricky Jay, who plays an MMA star’s corrupt manager. Allen, also, is surprisingly suited to portraying an untouchable, overly serious Hollywood film star. Even Redbelt’s subplots revolve around fighting: while Frank shoots a war film, Terry hashes it out with his wife who urges him to earn some cash. In the end, one wonders if Terry’s uphill struggle isn’t representative of the director’s attempt to sift through convoluted narrative threads for an archetypal hero legend that is sparklingly simple. –Trinie Dalton

Red Belt – Songbird – USA
It 's a very good movie. Very well played. I wanted more action, but I enjoyed it. Very thin.
Rocky Meets Glengarry Glen Ross – el dangeroso – Asheville, NC
Whisk mixture of David Mamet's intelligent dialogue and sounds paranoid preference for two intersections with Tim Allen and the "sports of Mixed Martial Arts, after a car accident to come our way, and while the machine does not run here and sputtering Veer shoulder a bit, 'is not around and never really catches fire. Everybody goes away in one piece, but a bit 'dazed, the resolution of the action a bit' underwhelming, bloodthirsty spectators a little 'disappointed.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is in his usual fineForm as Mike Terry, a principle, but impoverished Jiu Jitsu expert coach in the usual platitudes about the transcendent nature of martial arts. "There is no situation you can not escape," he said too often: "I train people to prevail."
Terry refuses, out of organized crime hits reasons that remain a bit 'undefined, although all have something to ruin the purity of sport with the violent struggle for the adoption of rules or the games can not befixed. No matter, because it is exactly all that matters, that his idealism he and his wife passed away from a slippery slope wave of material wealth, and a life where he can not afford to open a window to replace a trivial accident.
It 's a coincidence that this doe-eyed rape victim Laura Black (Emily Mortimer), brings in his dojo. It 'also this incident and his strange insistence that control take off his jacket, which ends Mike Terry, in a worldExtortion, bar fights, Intellectual Property, and fabric treated milled white marble changed dramatically. In the mind of Mamet, a slight turn of luck and you're down the rabbit hole.
There are plot holes so improbable that most of the spectators lose thrill (the marble system and inciting incident Dojo are doing particularly beautiful.) And there are scenes, such as cough syrup to have hallucinations (to be presented Terry with being ivory seem busyJapanese champion belt on the scene when asphalt was unconscious thirty security guards, a name.)
But even with sub-par Mamet, it's usually to see something interesting, and when ready, the inconsistencies are to be assigned in history, conspire with the reasoning cloudy character, accept that it is usually in the shadow hand work against you, and not all probe in depth, then you can "Redbelt" to play a redirect will act with good mannersDialogue and hard.
Ronin becomes Master – AkuumaX – TN and MS
I do not really need going into the deep history.
Others have already, which it refers.
This is a guy, martial artists to resolve an issue of money.
Words really can not express the depth of the film.
I have not seen the spot metering.
I saw the preview of another movie and thought it would be interesting.
Received more than I expected.
Had a history of Bushido, the comitatus, the warrior code in general.
And a modernTag Warrior to battle to keep its code in the face
seemingly insurmountable opposition.
Every student of martial arts as a lifestyle rather than a reason more than likely
has something to this film.
The phrase "There is always a way out." is the stereotype of the film.
Finally, it is shown.
One of the logical message of hope can be given,
Knowledge is the key, and defeat is due to the lack of it.
In general, I think it was a masterpiece and a have.
Great to see, after one of those busy weeks when life kicks you in the ass.

Blue Ray Movies :Traffic (Combo Blu-ray and Standard DVD) [Blu-ray] Review
Posted by Blu Ray Movies Review on May 26th, 2010
transmission excellent, the best transport I've ever seen. And it works, the double disc (Blu-Ray on one side, DVD on the other) and one side, there is no rational reason to complain – especially given the cost much cheaper than most packages, which contain a separate DVD.
Overview
Winner of four Academy Awards®, including Best Director, Traffic is “an astonishing experience!” (Jeffrey Lyons, WNBC-TV ). It’s the high-stakes, high-risk world of the drug trade as seen through a well-blended mix of interrelated stories: a Mexican policeman (Benicio Del Toro) finds himself and his partner caught in an often deadly web of corruption; a pair of DEA agents (Don Cheadle and Luis Guzmán) work undercover in a sordid and dangerous part of San Diego; a wealthy drug baron living in upscale, suburban America is arrested and learns how quickly his unknowing and pampered wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) takes over his business; and the U.S. President’s new drug czar (Michael Douglas) must deal with his increasingly drug-addicted teenage daughter.

Not Recommended, Double Sided Disks Are Evil – Mark Talmadge – Flint Michigan
Universal, for some reason decided to produce double-sided discs to continue this, the Blu-ray disc contains one side and DVD on the other side. Why is it so that Universal can not follow the example of Disney movies such as two discs together. Disney Combo drive, Blu-ray and the DVD version contains the same version, but the DVD and Blu-ray discs are on separate drives, use one side only.
I strongly recommend not buying this item.
